The Choir holds two main functions each year to raise money for local charities.  So far, we have raised almost $32,000 for The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Research Foundation and $11,500 for other charities.

Our group also accepts invitations from other organizations to present music for weddings, church services, Pleasant Sunday Afternoon concerts, senior citizens, the City of Charles Sturt citizenship and other ceremonies.

We rehearse at the Uniting Church in Hawker Street, Ridleyton, between 7.30 p.m. and 10 p.m. on each Tuesday evening. The small groups of singers recruited from the main Choir rehearse on alternate Tuesdays from 6.30 p.m. before the main choir rehearsals.

The small groups, who also perform as part of major concerts, are:-

Edith’s Ladies' Choir
A group of some 10 to 15 voices singing in two and three-part harmony.

Four-part Male voice Choir
A group
consisting of approximately 10 men.

The whole group of singers come together to learn and enjoy the fun and fellowship of singing, develop new skills, give pleasure to others, make new friends and retain a love of music.

Music – The choir maintains a comprehensive library of all types of music, copies of which are supplied free of charge to members for the current year’s program. This music remains the property of the choir and is returned at the end of the year. Music is also available for loan to other choirs from the Music Lending Scheme of the Canberra Choral Society.
