Our Musical Director
Tanika Richards completed her Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance at the Elder Conservatorium of Music, University of Adelaide, and a Graduate Diploma in Education. In addition to this, Tanika is an accomplished flautist, saxophonist and piccolo player and has played in and directed many ensembles, both instrumental and vocal. A finalist in the NT Young Achiever Awards 2009 and Young Centralian of the year 2008, Tanika currently works as an instrumental and classroom teacher, an accompanist and as a repetiteur for Adelaide musical theatre. A performer at heart, Tanika has performed in many recitals, concerts both in a solo capacity as well as in ensembles, bands and orchestras. She regularly accompanies performers for Recitals Australia Lunchtime Concerts, University and Year 11 and 12 Exams, National and State Band Championships, AMEB exams and community choirs. Tanika is also a member of a wide range of music ensembles, notably the Unley Concert Band and the Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra where she plays piccolo and flute and is a regular guest artist on the Harpsichord with the Elder Conservatorium Chamber Orchestra.
Our Accompanist Margaret Pethick has been an accompanist for many singing and instrumental students for examinations: performances and auditions for entrance to the Elder Conservatorium of Music and State Opera. She has also been an accompanist for concert performances and Eisteddfod competitions. Audition, repetiteur and concert pianist for numerous operettas and musicals. For 15 years Margaret had been the accompanist for Monteverdi Singers and 9 years for an Adelaide singing school.
Our Assistant Conductor
Edith Webster is our assistant conductor and has been with the Woodville Concert Choir for over 22 years.
As a conductor, chorister, composer and arranger Edith has worked with school, church and community choirs and has produced musicals, Gilbert & Sullivan operettas and concerts.
In her work with the South Australian branch of the Australian National Choral Association Edith has participated in the organisation of a national Choralfest with local workshops in all aspects of choral music.
